CrashSpeed Accident Analysis System
CAAS is a graphical interface for the NHTSA Crash Test and Tip-over databases and the Canadian SPECS database.
AAS provides the user with several was to access the NHTSA Crash Test database. The slide below illustrates access by the location of the crush as coded by the Vehicle Damage Index (VDI). The database can also be access by Crash Test No., Make, Model, Year and PDOF
AAS interprets the data and displays the it graphically including the length, width, area of crush, and PDOF. Vehicle measurements, Stiffness Coefficients and much, much more....

CAAS allows user to import the NHTSA data for two colliding vehicles that
are the same or similar to vehicles involved in an accident. This data,
along with the accident scene data is used to calculated vehicle speeds.
