ACCIDENT ANIMATION

My animations are created by Visualstatement FX3 software which is a specialize CAD program that generates full motion 2D and 3D animation in real time. Depicted below are three PowerPoint slides is used to explain to the jury how the animation was produced. The animation was accepted into evidence in Hagen v Fleck, Marion County Circuit Court, Salem, Oregon, 2007. The jury stated that it was instrumental in there decision to you for the defense (my side).

Animations can be produced in 2D and 3D. Three Dimension animations gives the jury the ability to view the accident from several positions. They can see what the drivers saw, what the witnesses could see or what they could not see. They can see the dynamics of the accident in real time motion as if they were there. In the case below, a police photo was used to animate a photomerge. The location of the photographer photograph was determined and a virtual camera was placed at the location on the 2D CAD drawing. The two screen shots are from the animation represent what the virtual camera recorded just before impact and the points of rests of the vehicles.

Data Points the police measurements were imported into Visualstatement FX3 and  2D Scale Vehicles were placed at POI. The photograph above was used to Locate where the photographer was standing that took the photo.

Screen Shots of the Photo Merge Animation

The Photo-merge 3D animation was a deciding factor on the jury understanding the defense scenario. Although the screen shots do not due justice to the actual animation, they clearly show the vehicle dynamics required to mach the evidence.
